HOW DO DEFEO’S NEW PARTS COMPARE TO GENUINE ALLISON REPLACEMENT PARTS?
Defeo manufactures parts using the reverse engineering process. The parts are designed and tested by our engineers on transmission dynamometers to make sure they work and perform like the original counter parts in all respects, including form, fit, function, composition, and durability.
IS DEFEO THE OEM MANUFACTURER FOR ALLISON TRANSMISSIONS INC.?
Defeo is NOT the OEM manufacturer for Allison Transmissions Inc.
IS DEFEO AN AUTHORIZED ALLISON DEALER OR HAVE ANY AFFILIATION WITH ALLISON TRANSMISSIONS INC.?
Defeo is NOT an authorized dealer and has NO affiliation with Allison Transmissions Inc.
CAN DEFEO REFURBISH MY ALLISON TRANSMISSION CASES?
Defeo can refurbish transmission cases for most Allison Series Transmission. For the ones we are unable to refurbish, we usually stock them as Good Used Parts.
CAN DEFEO REFURBISH MY PART?
Defeo can refurbish many parts for most Allison transmissions, please call us at 800.682.1290 or e-mail us at email@example.com to find out if the part you have is repairable. Defeo cannot repair gaskets, seals, bearings, bushings, or O-rings…but probably does supply these NEW to replace yours at a nice savings.
HOW DOES DEFEO TEST & COMPARE THEIR PARTS?
Defeo tests parts structure and composition in certified metallurgic laboratories. We test durability, function, and performance on industry used transmissions and dynamometers.
DOES DEFEO USE METAL SPRAYING TECHNIQUES WHEN REBUILDING PARTS?
DeFeo does not use metal spraying in any such way or form. We consider it hazardous to both the part and the transmission. Over a period of time metal wears and begins to flake off causing particles to get into transmission fluids and filters.
DOES DEFEO HAVE A MINIMUM ORDER REQUIREMENT?
Yes, Defeo does have a $20 minimum order.
DOES DEFEO STOCK MANY PARTS?
Yes, Defeo stocks over 10,000 parts in stock. We stock all types of parts such as aftermarket new parts, Allison new parts, refurbished parts, good used parts, and Allison surplus parts for most On & Off-highway model Allison Transmissions.
CAN DEFEO SHIP ME A REFURBISHED PART WITHOUT HAVING MY CORE?
Yes, Defeo stocks swing cores so that we can ship you parts in advance of receiving your core. Defeo will Invoice you separately for the core charge and then credit your account upon receiving and examining your returned core. We will supply you with a “Core Return Packing List” and “Core Return Label” to send your cores back to us. You will be credited for the good core, but charged for any freight cost if you used the “Core Return Label” we provided. We are also able to sell you refurbished parts, even if you don’t have a core to return, or your core is un-repairable, you will just be subject to the core charge associated with that part.
DOES DEFEO SELL NEW ALLISON ORIGINAL PARTS?
Yes, Defeo stocks many commonly used Allison original parts in our inventory. Defeo through acquisition of other companies, is constantly expanding it Allison product line. Please ask your sales representative today for more details.
DOES DEFEO OFFER GOOD USED PARTS?
Yes, Defeo offers many good used Allison Transmission Parts for both On and Off-highway Allison Transmissions.
DOES DEFEO SELL REFURBISHED PARTS OUTRIGHT (WITHOUT MY CORE)?
Yes, Defeo has many refurbished parts available for outright sale.
DOES DEFEO SELL COMPLETE TRANSMISSION CORES?
Yes, we stock a full line of complete transmission cores for both On and Off-highway Allison Transmissions.
DOES DEFEO REFURBISH THE ACTUAL TRANSMISSIONS?
Yes, Defeo does refurbish Allison Transmissions. All of our transmissions come fully dynamometer tested with all NEW electrical where applicable.
DOES DEFEO PICK-UP AND DELIVER?
Defeo Manufacturing picks up for free anywhere in the Northeast within a 60 mile radius, and delivers at a cost of no more than $50 an order within that same 60 miles radius. (Special Circumstances may be subject to an additional delivery Fee)
DOES DEFEO OFFER DISTRIBUTION DEALS WITH COMPANIES OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES?
Yes, Defeo will consider distribution deals with companies in countries outside the USA. Each will be subject to their own review based on various criteria.
WILL DEFEO DROP SHIP MY ORDER?
Yes, in most cases Defeo will drop ship orders at no extra charge depending on delivery address.
WILL DEFEO SHIP MY ORDER BY U.S. POSTAL SERVICE?
Defeo does NOT ship orders using the U.S. Postal Service.
ARE DEFEO NEW PARTS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN ORIGINAL ALLISON PARTS?
Yes, of course! Defeo offers a variety of parts that range anywhere from 10% - 70% less than their Allison Original counter part.
ARE DEFEO’S REFURBISHED PARTS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN ORIGINAL ALLISON PARTS?
Yes, typically Defeo’s refurbished parts tend to be substantially lower in price than compared to a new Allison Original part.
DOES DEFEO TAKE CREDIT CARDS?
Yes, Defeo now offers our customers the option to pay via Visa, MasterCard, or American Express at no extra charge. (However we don’t accept Discover Card at this time)
DOES DEFEO TAKE BANK TRANSFERS?
Yes, Defeo accepts bank transfers.
DOES DEFEO ACCEPT PAYPAL PAYMENTS?
Yes, Defeo does accept payment via PayPal. You may submit PayPal payments to firstname.lastname@example.org
DOES DEFEO ACCEPT WESTERN UNION PAYMENTS?
No, Defeo does not accept this form of payment.
DOES DEFEO SHIP C.O.D.?
Yes, depending on the customer’s account history with us, we can ship C.O.D. with some freight carriers.
DOES DEFEO OFFER QUANTITY DISCOUNTS?
Yes, depending on the item and quantity requested, Defeo will offer quantity discounts on certain items.
DOES DEFEO COVER FREIGHT CHARGES?
No, unless previously agreed upon under special circumstances, all shipments are F.O.B. Brookfield, Connecticut. Defeo typically ships all packages prepaid and add via UPS. We are capable of shipping with all major carriers. Defeo can ship freight collect if provided with customer’s valid shipper account information.
DOES DEFEO CHARGE FOR DELIVERY WITH DEFEO TRUCKS?
Yes, due to the increase in fuel & tolls throughout the tri-state area there is now a minimum $50 delivery charge on all deliveries.
DOES DEFEO CHARGE FOR A PICK-UP FOR PARTS/TRANSMISSIONS?
Local pickup within 60 miles is generally free of charge except for special circumstance (after hours, heavy load, etc.) then a pick up charge may be added to the bill. Pick-ups outside a 60 miles radius of our warehouse will be subject to a pick up charge depending the distance, weight, and size of the items.

WHAT DOES A “GOOD USED PART” MEAN?
A “Good Used Part” is a part that has been taken out of an Allison transmission and was functioning properly when removed. The parts has been checked and shows no sign that it cannot be re-used again in its current condition.
WHAT DOES A “REFURBISHED”, “REBUILT PART” OR “RE-MANUFACTURED PART” MEAN?
Any part for that has been refurbished to a condition where it will fit and function properly again. Refurbished can mean any action applied to the part such as machining, tapping, boring, drilling, welding, cutting, re-lining, re-programming, etc., based on the type of part.
DOES DEFEO BUY TRANSMISSION CORES?
Yes, we are always in the market to buy Allison Transmission Cores for both On and Off-highway units. Please contact us today if you want to turn your cores into cash.
DOES DEFEO CARRY ECU’S/TCM’S?
Yes, we carry many ECU’s/TCM’s as both good used, and refurbished in some cases.
CAN DEFEO PROGRAM OR SUPPLY ME A PRE-PROGRAMMED ECU’S/TCM’S?
Yes, Defeo is capable of programming ECU’s/TCM’s. However in order to do so properly, we require the following information for each.
- CIN# off of the old ECU/TCM
- Serial # off of the transmission
- VIN# off of the vehicle
DOES DEFEO CARRY PUSH BUTTON SELECTORS?
Yes, we carry many Shift Selectors as both good used and refurbished parts.
WHAT IS THE LATEST TIME YOU CAN PLACE A UPS ORDER FOR SAME DAY SHIPPING?
Monday – Thursday, typically depending on the size of an order, if it is received by 5pm EST, the items that are in stock should ship that same day. 4pm EST on Fridays.
DOES DEFEO SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES?
Yes, we export to all countries that do business and trade with the United States. We can quote you freight rates for both ocean and air shipments in many cases.
DOES DEFEO HAVE A WILL CALL SERVICE?
Yes, customers may place and pick up local orders at any of our warehouse locations.
WHAT HOURS CAN I CALL AND SPEAK TO A LIVE PERSON?
Typically you can speak to live person by calling 800.682.1290 Monday – Thursday from 8am to 5:30pm, and 8am to 4:30pm on Fridays.
